Welcome to TLMUN VIII

Dear Distinguished Delegates and Members of the Dais, 

It is with immense honour and heartfelt enthusiasm that I welcome you back to the 8th iteration of Taylor’s Lakeside Model United Nations Conference 2025. 

As this year’s Secretary-General, I welcome everyone back to our annual flagship conference with great honour and invite all of you to embark on a 3-day journey with this year’s theme, “Omnia iusta sunt Amore Belloque” — “All’s Fair in Love and War,”. The theme challenges us to confront conflicts with the most provocative axioms, highlighting the essence and philosophy of politics and international relations. It serves as a reminder to everyone here of the intense competition and diplomacy that push everyone to engage in bold and even unconventional tactics in the most unexpected ways. 

Where the current political trade atmosphere unites the world with a common enemy, this year's conference lies between the unexpected ideals and the realities we navigate. However, a strong reminder to everyone that while extreme situations can push people to act beyond traditional boundaries, that doesn't necessarily make those actions right.

As usual, we look forward to forming long-lasting friendships and connections that transcend boundaries, and cross cultures, and last longer than the three days on this lakeside campus.
